the 2nd day
A retro and romantic feel from a foreign country
8:00 | A special breakfast to create a resort atmosphere
Mari welcomes us while gazing at the sparkling sea.
In addition to the "Crouffle Benedict" and "Thick Beef Burger" prepared by the chef right in front of you, there are also local dishes unique to Kobe that use local ingredients and have a hint of Western culture. At the open terrace seats, you can start your morning elegantly while feeling the sea breeze.
10:00 | Kobe Port Tower, the symbol of the port city of Kobe
Just north of the hotel stands the beautiful drum-shaped Kobe Port Tower. From its observation deck, you can enjoy the unique view of Kobe, where the sea and mountains are close together, allowing you to really feel how close they are.
At the bottom of the tower is the stop for the City Loop Bus, which travels around Kobe's tourist spots. Enjoy unlimited hop-on and hop-off travel with a one-day pass.
11:00 | Tour of the classic buildings in the former settlement and lunch
This was the area where foreigners who were active in Kobe, mainly through trade, lived during the Meiji period.
In the neatly divided streets, you can still feel the atmosphere of the Kyukyakyochi, which was praised as "the most beautiful in the Orient." Entering the alleys, you will find rows of retro and unique cafes and shops.
If you find an alley or building that catches your eye, be sure to step inside.
13:00|Tour of Kitano Foreign Houses
In the 1880s (1887-1896), many mansions were built in Kitano as a new residential area for foreign residents.
Western-style buildings on high ground overlooking the sea are affectionately known as "Ijinkan" and are popular as Kobe's leading tourist spots. Enjoy interesting Ijinkan buildings such as Weathervane House, Uroko House, and Yamate Hachibankan, famous for the "Saturn Chair."
17:00|Shin-Kobe Station
Kobe has many hills, but the City Loop Bus makes it easy for families to get around. There is also a bus stop in front of Shin-Kobe Station, so it is easy to get to the Shinkansen.
