Internet connection information
If you bring your own computer, you can use the Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel.
During your stay, you can access the Internet via wireless LAN broadband free of charge in all guest rooms (323 rooms) and banquet halls.
It can be used for a wide range of purposes, whether you are traveling for business or leisure.

To use this service, you will need the following:
- You can access the network using Wi-Fi (IEEE802.11b) compatible Ethernet (LAN).
* If your computer does not have a built-in wireless Ethernet (LAN) port, you will need to add a wireless Ethernet (LAN) card (in which case, you will need at least one available PCMCIA Type II slot). - The computer you are using must be installed with software that allows you to change the SSID of the IEEE802.11b compliant Ethernet LAN card.
- The computer you are using must be installed with software that allows you to set the WEP (40-bit) key for the IEEE802.11b-compliant Ethernet LAN card.
* Many devices do not have this installed as standard, so be sure to check. - The settings for your computer's Internet connection are set to "Do not use a Proxy Server" and "Obtain an IP address automatically," or the settings can be changed to those settings.
Regarding communication speed
This service generally provides a high-speed, always-on Internet environment, but does not guarantee that the connection will be always-on or at high speed. Due to technical principles, the transmission speed may decrease. Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel cannot guarantee that the speed will decrease, so please be aware of this before using the service.
IP Address
A private IP address is automatically assigned each time you connect. There is no service to assign a fixed IP. This service is not suitable for setting up an Internet server (WWW or email) on your side.
Security
- This service does not place any restrictions on the content of information transmitted within the network (no virus checks are performed), so customers are responsible for protecting and managing the security of their own computers.
- Please note that we are not liable for any damages incurred by users in relation to the provision, delay, change, interruption or discontinuance of the Wireless LAN Service, loss of user or user information registered, provided or collected through the Wireless LAN Service, damages caused by computer virus infection of the user's computer, or any other damages incurred by users in relation to the Wireless LAN Service.

- The hotel cannot provide any support regarding your specific computer environment or various settings.
